Resolution and Format

Resolution and Format settings create video output rules for individual applications. Use these rules to meet an application's compatibility or quality requirements.

Changes require you to reconnect VCam in the affected application. Some applications may also ignore custom rules.


Add an application rule


  1. Enter the application's process name. Include the file extension. For example, enter firefox.exe.
  2. Select a resolution.
  3. Select a video format.
  4. Select Add new.


Configured applications appear above the controls. Select the minus icon beside an application to remove its rule.


Available resolutions


  • 1920 × 1080
  • 1280 × 720
  • 640 × 480
  • 640 × 360


Available formats


  • Auto
  • NV12
  • YUY2
  • ARGB32


Use Auto unless an application requires a specific format. Select Reset to default to restore VCam's default rules.



Opening Settings


Select Settings at the bottom of the left sidebar in VCam.


The Settings window is divided into App and Advanced sections. Select a page on the left side of the Settings window to display its options.
