General Settings

General settings control how VCam starts and appears. They also define how the app behaves when it is idle.

General settings in VCam

Opening Settings

Select Settings at the bottom of the left sidebar in VCam.

The Settings window is divided into App and Advanced sections. Select a page on the left side of the Settings window to display its options.

The Settings button at the bottom of the VCam sidebar

Launch VCam on startup

Enable this option to launch VCam in the system tray when your computer starts. This helps VCam load faster when you join your first session.

Disable this option if you prefer to open VCam manually.

Dark mode

VCam in Light mode (left), VCam in Dark mode (right)

Enable Dark mode to use a darker interface. This can make VCam more comfortable to use in low-light environments.

Sleep timer

The Sleep timer controls how long VCam waits before entering sleep mode when it is minimized or closed to the system tray with no connected clients.

Use the default 4-second delay to reduce background resource use quickly or choose a longer delay to keep VCam ready between back-to-back calls.
