What is VCam.ai?

VCam.ai is a background removal app which removes video backgrounds without a green screen, blur background for enhanced focus, and give immersive presentations. It offers features like team backgrounds and logos, auto-framing, and compatibility with numerous video conferencing and broadcasting apps. VCam.ai lets you remove, blur or completely replace your camera's background without the need for a green screen.

Original

Original is the default selection and simply shows your webcam feed as-is.

Remove

Remove instantly completely removes your background similar to having a chroma-keyed green screen. For the full alpha transparency effect, the application you're using VCam with will need to support the ARGB32 colorspace. (For example, streaming apps like XSplit Broadcaster and OBS Studio.)

While the background might appear as black in the preview, it will be transparent in supported apps.

|| Video conferencing apps such as Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams don't support this and will just make your background black.

Blur

Click Blur to apply a blur effect . This feature completely removes your background similar to having a chroma-keyed green screen.

Using VCam with Google Meet

Google Meet, a leading platform for online meetings, simplifies connecting with others from anywhere. Integrating VCam with Google Meet gives you the ability to change your background, making every video call more personalized and visually interesting.

You'll be able to switch to VCam as your camera on Google Meet both before and during a meeting:

Before you join a Google Meet meeting, you'll be able to prepare and setup your camera and microphone:

Click the camera list drop-down then select VCam.ai Camera.

When you're already in a Google Meet meeting, you can also switch your camera to VCam.ai through the Settings window:

On the Settings window, go to Video then select VCam.ai Camera from the _Camera drop

Using VCam with Zoom

There are two ways to switch to the VCam.ai Camera on Zoom, during an active meeting or through Zoom's settings:

During an active meeting, click the ^ near the Video button, then select VCam.ai Camera under Select a camera.

Click on the Video tab, then select VCam.ai Camera from the Camera drop-down.

Using VCam with Microsoft Teams

|| The instructions below are for the Microsoft Teams app. We recommend using this version if you plan to use VCam.ai. Setup for the browser-based Teams will differ on the browser you’re using and will require additional changes to your settings and/or security permissions.

During a conference call on Microsoft Teams, click on More, then select Device Settings.

Scroll down to Video Settings, then select VCam.ai Camera from the Camera drop-down.
