# Splash Screen

Splash Screen settings control the image shown when VCam has no active camera connection. You can display a black screen or upload a custom image.

### Black Screen

Select **Black Screen** to display a plain black frame. This is the default splash screen for Premium users.

### Custom Image

Select **Custom Image**. Then select **Choose image** to upload your splash screen.

Custom splash screens must use the **JPG** format.

VCam adds black bars when an image does not use a 16:9 aspect ratio. This prevents the image from being stretched.

#### Opening Settings

Select **Settings** at the bottom of the left sidebar in VCam.

The Settings window is divided into **App** and **Advanced** sections. Select a page on the left side of the Settings window to display its options.
