# Generating an MSINFO32 File

During troubleshooting, our Support Team frequently requests the MSINFO32 file to better understand your system. Here's how to generate and share it.

## Generating the MSINFO32 .NFO file

1. Go to the **Start Menu.** then type `System Information`.

2. The **System Information** app will be highlighted under _Best Match_ search results. **Click** on it or press **Enter** to open.

| **Alternative Method:** Use the keyboard shortcut **Windows key + R** to bring up the _Run_ dialog. Type `msinfo32` then click **OK**.

4. On the **System Information** window, go to **File** and click **Save**.

5. Select a _folder_ destination, provide a _filename_, and click **Save**.

| Choose a memorable folder and filename for easy retrieval. Ensure the chosen format is _System Information File (*.NFO)_.

6. Navigate back to the _Support Chat bubble_ and click on the **Send a file** icon adjacent to the text input area.

7. Locate and select the _MSINFO32 file_ you just saved, then click **Open**.
