# Backgrounds

VCam.ai lets you remove, blur or completely replace your camera's background without the need for a green screen.

## Original

**Original** is the default selection and simply shows your webcam feed as-is.

## Remove

**Remove** instantly completely removes your background similar to having a chroma-keyed green screen.
For the full alpha transparency effect, the application you're using VCam with will need to support the ARGB32 colorspace. (For example, streaming apps like [XSplit Broadcaster](/en/article/using-vcamai-with-xsplit-broadcaster-qdsvs2/) and [OBS Studio](/en/article/using-vcamai-with-obs-studio-127f8r7/).)

|| Video conferencing apps such as [Google Meet](/en/article/using-vcamai-with-google-meet-htr26w/), [Zoom](/en/article/using-vcamai-with-zoom-tun6yx/) and [Microsoft Teams](/en/article/using-vcamai-with-zoom-tun6yx/) don't support this and will just make your background black.

## Blur

Click **Blur** to apply a blur effect . This feature completely removes your background similar to having a chroma-keyed green screen.

## Backgrounds

You replace your background with an Image file, Video file, or even a free stock photo from Unsplash. Just click on any of the available ones on the sidebar to instantly replace your background.

### Adding new backgrounds

Click on **Add Background** then select either to upload an image, video, or choose a stock photo from Unsplash.

JPEG and PNG files as well both static and animated GIFs are supported for images while MP4 and WEBM files can be used for video background.

### Deleting backgrounds

Backgrounds can be deleted through their **... menu** or by selecting them and clicking on the **Trash** button on the top bar.

Multiple backgrounds can be deleted by checking each of their checkboxes, then clicking on the **Delete backgrounds** button below.
